Saki. Saturday 12th July 2008

Because of the Credit Crunch, John and me went to Saki which is a very posh Japanese Restaurant in Smithfield.
We discovered on Friday that we were about £20,ooo, 000 overdrawn which is a good thing as one of our few Shared Beliefs is that one should not die in Credit so we went to Saki to consolidate our position.
Saki is down some steps near the old Smithfield Meat Market.
In the subterraean gloom there was lots of Black Lacquer and a huge square Central Island filled with marble chips planted with giant phallic candles.
City types sat around on banquettes quaffing Fine Wines and much Older Men with much Younger Women lurked and whispered in corners.
I went to the loo and found that as well as Flushing the loo offered a Bidet Service and a Water Jet Control Panel. I thought this was almost bound to lead to Disaster so Steered Clear.
John decided that we should eat the whole menu. So we did.
We had King Crab with Mountain Cherries with Tofu. We had Lobster and Enoki and Shimeji Mushrooms in a knapsack of Tempura. We had Salkyo Miso Marinated Grilled Black Cod. Then we had Hoji Brown Tea Ice Cream and lots Saki.
Saki gives one the most Shocking Hangover.
